Apricosa- Your Next Craving
The task at hand for this case study was to design a high-end chocolate brand. Two things jumped out at me right away– A gold color scheme and a fun name. So, before anything, I needed to create that brand name. I began by researching some uncommon but fun foods to use as inspiration which eventually led me to fruits. I landed on an apricot, and decided to twist the name a little, which eventually became the name Apricosa. I then moved into my logo sketches. I wanted to utilize a simple yet effective serif font– Something old-style to tie into the older demographics high-end chocolates usually aim towards. After a bit of exploration, I created a flat seal-style logo using an A and C shape and accompanied it with the font style I had been working with. This leads us to our final logo design.

Final Logo Design
To go with our new brand, I of course need a box for our chocolates. I spent a few hours looking through box di-lines that I could use for this design. I finally settled on one I was happy with, so to make sure I could work with it, I downloaded the template and printed it on basic printer paper to practice assembling it. While it isn’t exact, I ended up loving the look of it so the next step is to move to Illustrator. I knew I wanted this box to have a dark brown background with a bit of texture. This box would be for round, individually packaged chocolates. Using some assets from Adobe stock, I found some visuals that best represented what these chocolates would look like. I created 6 flavors and lined them on the sides of the box to show what flavors the customer would be receiving. I also wanted to add a clear viewing window in the front to better show the product. This box also features a nutrition label I created myself using InDesign- The facts are based off of real chocolates. I added some gold embellishments to the corner, some social links to the back, and a beautiful chocolate splash to the front, bringing us to our final design. Meet Apricosa, your next favorite chocolate!
